Where the Heart Meets the Mountain

In the stillness of stone and sky, something long-buried was freed. This is the story of a journey into grief, love, and letting go.

(From a private, all-day VIP session in a Sedona vortex, 2011)

What if the thing you've never dared to feel is the very thing that sets you free?

She came to Sedona carrying something too heavy to hold alone. Her father had gone missing when she was young and was never found. The grief, the uncertainty, the silence—she had locked it all away, including a part of her own heart. And in doing so, unknowingly, she had also held his spirit here.  This wasn’t a casual meeting. It was a one-on-one immersion—a full day held on sacred land, deep within a Sedona vortex. We opened a field, made space, and followed what wanted to emerge.  What happened was beyond either of us. And it changed everything.

The Climb Begins

We began our climb up Cathedral Rock in the afternoon, following not just the trail but the subtle threads of something buried. Reggie had lived for decades with the unresolved pain of her father’s disappearance. More than that, she had lost access to the memory of that time in her life entirely. As I guided her, gently but deliberately, we began to reopen what had long been sealed. Grief surfaced in layers. We paused partway up, sitting together in the stillness as emotion rose.

An Angel Appears

That’s when he appeared. An older man, kind-eyed and steady, came walking toward us holding two heart-shaped stones. “Release it into the rock,” he said. Reggie threw hers. I kept mine. When we looked up again, he was gone. There were no trees, no turnoffs, and no place for him to disappear. An angel in human form.

The heart I kept.

The next day, still in joy.

Letting Go

We continued our climb. At the summit, with the sun beginning to descend, I guided her through the final part of the journey. We opened a channel to connect with her father’s spirit. It was not immediate. It was tender, exacting, and powerful. She found him. Spoke what needed to be said. And finally, let him go. Then something lifted. We ran down the mountain, not on the path, but straight through the rock and brush in the fading light. We didn’t stumble. We didn’t hesitate. It was pure trust. Joy.

Weeks later, we spoke again. She shared how that day changed everything and how the experience was still moving through her.
